Our centre is open 50 weeks a year, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed on public holidaysand during the Christmas to New Year period.
At Scribblz, we use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to support each child’s individual interests, strengths, and understanding, both as an individual and as part of a group.
Our curriculum combines planned and spontaneous activities, allowing children’s natural curiosity and developmental stage to guide learning. Educators turn these interests into meaningful “teachable moments” that encourage exploration and discovery.
Our experienced and qualified educators are dedicated to nurturing children and providing educational programs that support growth across all areas of development. Each day, they design programs that focus on:
Concentration and problem-solving – building thinking and reasoning skills
Art and creative expression – encouraging imagination and self-expression
Language, communication, and literacy – developing speaking, listening, and early reading and writing skills
Social skills – learning to interact, share, and work collaboratively
Construction and manipulative skills – strengthening coordination and fine motor abilities
Science and mathematics – exploring patterns, numbers, and the world around them
Gross and fine motor skills – developing strength, coordination, and dexterity
Music, singing, and movement – supporting expressive and creative development
Individual and group work – fostering independence while learning to collaborate
Cultural exploration – understanding diversity and celebrating differences
Connection with the environment – respecting nature and learning about the land
Community connections – engaging with the wider community and developing a sense of belonging
Programs are designed for both indoor and outdoor learning environments, and include opportunities for small group activities. Educators consider each child’s development, interests, questions, and family input when planning activities. Daily evaluation ensures each experience is meaningful and effective, allowing educators to adapt programs to best support your child’s growth and learning.
Our School Readiness Program (both Junior and Senior) are designed to support children as they prepare to transition confidently into formal schooling. The program balances social, emotional, and academic development, ensuring children have the skills and confidence to succeed in their first year of school. We work closely with local schools and the Education Department to align our program with all guidelines, and we meet with families to provide guidance on whether their child is ready based on how they learn and interact in a group setting.
School readiness is much more than knowing ABCs and 123s. Our program helps children develop a wide range of skills, including:
Independence and Self-Help Skills
Hand washing, toileting, and caring for belongings
Packing away, making choices, serving food, and pouring water
Building confidence and autonomy in daily routines
Language and Communication
Expressing themselves verbally and confidently speaking in front of groups
Listening respectfully and learning effective communication
Social and Emotional Development
Building and maintaining friendships
Resolving conflicts confidently
Developing resilience and knowing when to seek help from a teacher
Separating easily at drop-off time
Fine Motor Skills
Correct pencil grip and letter formation
Using scissors safely and strengthening hand coordination
Developing the dexterity needed for everyday tasks
Literacy and Numeracy
Identifying letters, understanding phonics, and developing writing skills
Number recognition, basic addition and subtraction, and exploring concepts such as volume and space
Cognitive and Scientific Thinking
Developing focus and attention span
Sorting, matching, and problem-solving
Exploring, investigating, and forming hypotheses about the world around them
Children also participate in group projects and theme-based activities inspired by their interests, which provide opportunities to learn across multiple areas of development.
The program is designed to support children in achieving the five Early Years Learning Framework outcomes:
Children have a strong sense of identity
Children are connected with and contribute to their world
Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
Children are confident and involved learners
Children are effective communicators
A mid-year report is provided to families, detailing each child’s progress against these outcomes. Through our School Readiness Program, children gain the skills, confidence, and independence needed to thrive in their first year of school and beyond.
All of our educators are trained to observe, interpret, and extend each child’s development. They regularly monitor progress and set both short- and long-term goals for every child, using planned activities and experiences to support learning and growth.
Families can stay closely connected to their child’s learning through online educational portfolios on Kinderloop, which provide a detailed view of development and achievements. These portfolios can also be discussed in more depth during family meetings. To strengthen the connection between home and our centre, families are encouraged to complete input sheets and share information about their child’s interests, routines, and experiences throughout the year.
Educators carefully document children’s work, questions, and interests, and use this information to plan new experiences that stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
Each of our play spaces is designed with learning centres that encourage children to explore, create, and discover through a wide variety of activities. These centres are accessible to all children and provide opportunities to develop skills across multiple areas of learning:
Exploration Centre – Children engage in hands-on discovery, investigating materials and experimenting to see what they can create.
Sensory Centre – Particularly valuable for younger children, this area allows exploration through messy play, textures, and sensory experiences that stimulate curiosity and learning.
Construction Centre – Children build, create, and problem-solve using a variety of materials, developing spatial awareness, creativity, and coordination.
Writing and Literacy Centre – Focused on developing fine motor skills and early writing, this area includes drawing, tracing, copying letters, name writing, and alphabet recognition.
Book and Reading Centre – A quiet space for children to relax, enjoy books, and explore felt board stories, fostering a love of reading.
Thinking Centre – Children enhance concentration and problem-solving skills through puzzles, sequencing, matching games, and cause-and-effect activities.
Dramatic Play Centre – Encourages make-believe, role play, and social interaction, helping children develop confidence, self-expression, and social skills.
Creative Arts Centre – Provides opportunities for self-expression through painting, pasting, threading, cutting, and playdough activities.
Technology – Age-appropriate use of laptops, iPads, and interactive smart boards allows children to research, draw, write, and explore through educational programs, incorporated into daily routines to expand learning.
Cultural Exploration Areas – Children discover and learn about different cultures both around the world and within their own community, fostering understanding and respect for diversity.
These learning centres provide a rich, stimulating environment where children can explore their interests, develop new skills, and engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences every day.
We have two large outdoor playgrounds that connect directly to our indoor classrooms, allowing smaller groups of children to safely interact with peers of a similar age and seamlessly move between indoor and outdoor learning. This connection supports a natural flow between learning environments and encourages exploration in a variety of ways.
Our outdoor spaces are designed to foster a strong connection to nature. Children engage in gross motor activities such as obstacle courses, open running spaces, balancing challenges, sand play, and water play. They also explore and care for our rabbit, learning responsibility, empathy, and how to care for animals.
We have a bush tucker garden, where children can plant, nurture, and harvest native fruits, vegetables, and herbs, learning about sustainable practices and healthy eating. The outdoor area also features a sandpit, providing opportunities for imaginative play, sensory exploration, and cooperative experiences.
Through these outdoor experiences, children develop physical skills, explore the natural world, and engage in meaningful play that promotes curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
All meals are prepared and delivered daily by a professional catering company who are able to cater for all allergies and dietary requirements. Our menu is a 6 week menu which rotates daily. It is thoughtfully designed to feature a variety of dishes inspired by cultures from our community, and around the world.
Mealtimes take place in our dining room, where children engage in conversations about nutrition, healthy eating, etiquette, and manners, fostering a positive relationship with food.

Our service is able to receive the Child Care Subsidy on behalf of eligible families to help reduce the cost of childcare. Families will need to contact Centrelink to have their eligibility assessed. Family CRN numbers will then need to be provided to the centre upon enrolment.
Our service is committed to implementing the NSW Child Safe Standards. The safety, health and wellbeing of children is the number one priority of all staff and volunteers who understand children’s safety is a shared responsibility.
